It looked for a moment like the Milwaukee Brewers were on the verge of a tie for the second wild-card spot with the Colorado Rockies. Nursing a one-run, ninth-inning lead against the visiting Chicago Cubs, it was not to be.

After tying the game in the ninth, the Cubs wriggled out of danger to send the contest to extras. With Jon Jay already on base, third baseman Kris Bryant drilled a two-run shot very deep to put the game seemingly on ice with closer Wade Davis on the mound.
