Neither finished training but Nate Myles and Dane Gagai are expected to be fit for next weeks final State of Origin clash in Sydney.

Myles with a knee injury and Gagai a thigh are both at the Maroons camp but with a question of their fitness.

After missing game two due to his knee being injured in his NRL match against Penrith, Myles took part in most of the low-key session at the Maroons Gold Coast camp on Thursday

The veteran with 30 origins under his belt didn’t take part in the final drill of the day for precautionary reasons but fellow front-rower Matt Scott is confident Myles will be fit for Origin 3 at ANZ stadium on Wednesday.

“He was running pretty freely, I won’t say fast, but freely,” Scott said.

“He’s looking good. I think he’s pretty confident.”

The winger – Dane Gagai – who scored a hat-trick against the Blues in game 2 left the session early but is almost certain to start according to coach Kevin Walters.

30-year-old Gavin Cooper also made his debuted at the camp on Thursday after he arrived in Townsville following the birth of his second child Reggie. The 30-year-old admits it’s been a whirlwind week for him.

“That’s the first thing I’ve done since the game on Sunday so it’s good just to get a run in the legs,” Cooper said.

On Friday afternoon the Maroons are set to ramp up their preparations with a more intensive session, bringing in 18th man Felise Kaufusi to cover for Myles.
