Real Madrid have offered a reported €65 million bid for David Alaba

AS have reported that Real Madrid are ready to make a €65 million bid for Bayern Munich star David Alaba, to strengthen their defense even further.

It will fall shy of the €80 million that Bayern have put on the head of their star Austrian, who can play both as a left-back, centre back, and defensive midfielder.

They say that Bayern have also asked for Real Madrid star Pepe in the deal as well, while Real Madrid have already rejected Bayern’s move to try to include Raphael Varane in the deal.

It is worth pointing out that there hasn’t been substantial reports coming out of Germany about the potential transfer of the 24-year-old, and that he has been a key player for the Bundesliga champions.

Alaba spent part of his youth career in Austria before being brought in by Bayern Munich. In the 2009/10 season he made his debut for both the reserve squad and the full team. Since then he has made over 210 appearances for Bayern in total.

Bayern have brought in two major stars into their team this summer. Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels has made their defense, while they have brought in 18-year-old wonderkid Renato Sanches from Benfica.
