The Seattle Seahawks placed safety Earl Thomas on season-ending injured reserve with a broken leg, the team announced Tuesday.
In a corresponding move, free-agent safety Jeron Johnson will sign with the Seahawks.
Johnson spent the first four years of his career with the Seahawks (2011-14), helping the team capture Super Bowl XLVIII.
The veteran safety was evidently elated to return to the club:

The 28-year-old was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in September.
