Cocky Queensland prop Josh McGuire is an attention seeker and can expect some special attention from a fired-up NSW pack at ANZ Stadium.

That’s the view of Blues giants David Klemmer and Andrew Fifita, who have revealed their motivation is wiping the smile from the face of every Cane Toad.

An emotional Fifita didn’t hold back when asked if McGuire’s tweet — posted only a few hours after the Maroons series-clinching victory in game two — was a source of motivation.

McGuire tweeted: “Losers have meetings winners have parties lol #qld #180.’’

“Now you’ve told me that and I know what he said, I can use that as a bit of motivation now,’’ Fifita said.

“I’ll tell the boys about it too.

“It just comes down to a few of us standing tall and just be ready for the match-up.

“Josh McGuire can say all he wants to be honest.

“If we get a bite back, we get a bite back but at the end of the day he didn’t get one fast play the ball and was dominated by us in Game Two.

“I’m not scared of him and I’m not scared of anyone in his team.”

Fifita’s comments have emerged in the wake of NSW skipper Paul Gallen describing the Maroons as “bad winners.’’

Fifita said the sight of Queensland forwards Corey Parker, Matt Gillett and Matt Scott fist-pumping and jeering just meters from him once the fulltime siren sounded in Origin II, remains burnt on his brain.

“The only thing that’s going to drive me is the look on their faces after the game,’’ Fifita said.

“As heartbreaking as it was, we had plenty of opportunities that we didn’t capitalise on.

“But their look on their faces especially when the hooter went, that’s my motivation to get out there and put a bit of remembrance back into it.”

Fellow NSW prop David Klemmer suggested McGuire, who has played four Origins for Queensland, was merely seeking attention from the social media post.

“I think he got a bit too excited,’’ Klemmer said.

“But a couple of New South Wales supporters got stuck into him and hammered him. If he thinks that’s the right thing to say then so be it. It’s a tricky one.

“He might get some special attention from some of the boys but I think most of them aren’t too worried about him.

Klemmer then laughed: “He wants to be the attention seeker but he’s not going to get it … or he might.’’
