Stephen Strasburg wasn’t fooling anyone Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field.

The Washington Nationals starter was shelled for nine runs off nine hits and three walks in just 1 2/3 innings against the Colorado Rockies before manager Dusty Baker took the ball from the right-hander.

Colorado jumped on Strasburg out of the gate, plating seven runs in the opening frame to hand the 28-year-old the worst inning of his major-league career.

Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon opened the game with a double before his teammates followed with a single, walk, RBI single, three-run double, walk, out, RBI double, and two-run double all coming in the first.

Strasburg, who had never allowed more than seven runs in a game, became the fourth Nationals starter to allow at least nine runs and get five outs or fewer, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

After posting a 2.63 ERA over his first 20 starts, Strasburg has hit a wall of late. He’s allowed 19 runs over his last three outings, throwing just 11 2/3 frames.
