Donald Trump doubled down on the culture of sports Wednesday, dismissing the NFL’s concussion protocol during a rally in Florida.
A women fainted during the procession, then promptly recovered, giving Trump the opportunity to take an unprompted shot at the NFL.
“Look at that, the woman’s coming back. That woman was out cold and now she’s coming back. See, we don’t go by these new and very much softer NFL rules,” Trump said via Ashley Killough of CNN. “Concussion, oh! Oh! Got a little ding on the head, no, no you can’t play for the rest of the season. Our people are tough!”
Trump recently told a story about going golfing with Ben Roethlisberger, and dismissed comments about grabbing a women’s genitals as “locker room talk,” drawing derision from several athletes.
