Atlanta police arrested UFC welterweight Michael Graves on Saturday for misdemeanor battery, per Marc Raimondi from MMA Fighting.

Fulton County jail records specify Graves’ offense as “Battery – Family Violence.” The arrest will have an immediate impact on his professional career.

Senior vice president of public relations Dave Sholler released a statement announcing Graves was out of his UFC Fight Night 100 match against Sergio Moraes.

The UFC organization is aware that Michael Graves was arrested over the weekend on a misdemeanor battery charge. The organization takes this situation seriously and is in the process of gathering more information.

Graves has been removed from his scheduled bout on Nov. 19 as a result of the pending legal matter.

Graves has a 2-0-1 UFC record. In his most recent bout at UFC 201, the “Ultimate Fighter 21” contestant battled to a majority draw with Bojan Velickovic.
